Course Description: This course is designed for Outreach Training Program trainers who have completed the OSHA #501 Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry and are authorized trainers in the OSHA Outreach Training Program. The course provides an update on OSHA General Industry Standards, policies, and regulations. Upon course completion students will have the ability to demonstrate continued professional development in their field by applying effective adult learning principles and interactive training techniques to clearly identify, define, and explain general industry hazards and acceptable corrective measures as they continue to teach the 10- and 30-hour General Industry Outreach Training Program classes.

Trainer Authorization Reminder: Authorized OSHA General Industry Outreach trainers are required to attend the OSHA #503 Update for General Industry Outreach Trainers at least once every four (4) years to maintain their trainer status. Outreach trainers who let their authorization lapse will be ineligible to attend a Trainer Update course and will be required to meet all prerequisite requirements to attend the relevant initial Trainer course. This includes having successfully completed the OSHA #511 Standards course within seven calendar years of attending the initial Trainer course.

Advance Scheduling Guidance: OSHA urges authorized Outreach trainers to schedule registration, attendance, and completion of the relevant Trainer Update course well in advance of their trainer authorization expiration date as grace periods are no longer in effect.

Required Documents: To request the required Trainer Update form, contact: 801-581-4055 or
mountainwestosha@weber.edu  All required documentation must be submitted at least two weeks before the Trainer course you wish to attend to allow for adequate review time. Late submission of the required documents will result in a $100 late fee or potentially needing to enroll in a later course due to class size and/or enrollment cut-off.

Provide the following, ASAP:
1. Copy of your last Trainer Card
2. Copy of your Driver's License
3. Trainer Update Form

Notes:

RMCOEH FACILITY - PARKING NOTICE

Be aware that if you want a parking validation, you must park in the 250 parking garage structure, which is directly east of the 250 Tower Building where the Center is located. Do not park in the uncovered lot; we cannot validate vehicles parked outside of the garage.

When you park in the Tower 250 parking garage structure, scan the posted QR code to enter your parking information, including your license plate number and payment method. Your card will not be charged for the 9 hours of validated parking but will be charged if you stay past that time. Please enter all this information before you leave the parking lot, as you may need to return and complete it if not done correctly the first time. Completing all of the aforementioned steps prior to leaving the garage will also ensure you do not get charged if you have used a Metropolis parking lot in the past.

We strongly recommend arriving @ least 15 minutes before the start of the course to give yourself enough time to find parking, check in, and be ready to start the class promptly at 8 am.

For this course, your materials will be made available to you digitally via our Instructure Canvas platform. If you would like to access your materials in class, we recommend that you bring a tablet or a laptop.
