OSHA 10-Hour Outreach Class for the General Industry


The OSHA 10 Hour training course for general industry is intended to provide students with an overview of the basic health and safety hazards present in the workplace specifically targeted to the cannabis industry. The OSHA 10 hour general industry training course also provides students with an overview of how the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) operates. There are no prerequisites required to take the 10-hour general industry course.

The OSHA 10 hour training course for general industry is based on the OSHA 1910 standards. We also address state-specific OSHA requirements, where applicable. This OSHA 10 training course is designed for workers in most factories and manufacturing operations, health care industries, transportation and warehousing, chemical plants, oil and gas production operations, and service industries.

The OSHA 10 hour training course in general industry standards was created by OSHA, who has authorized certain OSHA Outreach trainers to conduct this 10-hour training class for a group of workers. The OSHA 10 training courses are presented in a classroom setting (usually spread over two consecutive days).

Here are the mandatory topics that will be covered in the OSHA 10-hour general industry training course. These topics take approximately seven hours to cover:

Exit Routes, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention and Protection
Electrical
Personal Protective Equipment
Hazard Communication
The balance of the 10 hour general industry training on site training course can be used to cover a few of the following topics:

Material Handling
Machine Guarding
Lockout - Tagout
Fall Protection
Introduction to Industrial Hygiene
Bloodborne Pathogens
Ergonomics
Safety and Health Programs

When a student successfully completes an OSHA 10 hour general industry training course, they will receive the official DOL / OSHA 10 hour wallet card. The OSHA 10-hour general industry training wallet cards, which are now made of plastic and are much more durable than the old paper cards, are accepted in all 50 states and the US territories. Students will also receive a personalized certificate for their OSHA 10 hour course.
