40-Hour HAZWOPER Training

The OSHA 1910.120 Standard was promulgated in response to a requirement of the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA) of 1986. The Standard, also known as "HAZWOPER", also applies to the following hazardous waste operations:

Government-required clean-up operations at hazardous waste sites
Voluntary clean-up at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites
Emergency response operations involving substances
Operations at RCRA Treatment, Storage and hazardous Disposal Facilities (TSDF)
RCRA Correction Action sites As the foundation for HAZWOPER certification,
OSHA requires attendance at a 24- or 40-hour course (or equivalent professional experience).
The 40-hour HAZWOPER is designed for those workers who regularly engage in hazardous waste operations.
In addition, certain individuals must receive an annual "refresher" training of 8 hours. The RMCOEH
40-hour 1910.120 course meets the requirements for site workers and TSDF workers as specified
in 29 CFR 1910.120(e) and (p).

There are no scheduled sessions at this time. Sign up to be notified when this course is available.
